Why it matters

Why does having just one operator matter?

Why we should care. And, more importantly, what can we do at this point, even if we can't change the status quo?

01

Avoiding arbitration lock-in can help your neighbors

Mandatory arbitration can keep disputes private and separate, even when many people are affected by the same policy or technical problem. That makes it harder for patterns to surface and harder for neighbors to act together.

Preserving public legal options is not about picking a fight. It is about keeping accountability tools available if riders face repeated fines, access problems, unsafe equipment, or account decisions with no meaningful appeal.

Avoid being locked into arbitration, and tell your friends.

02

Concerns from the Veo user agreement

User agreements often shift risk onto riders while preserving broad discretion for the company. We are reviewing language around fines, account suspension, payment disputes, data use, damage claims, and limits on legal recourse.

The practical question is simple: if Veo makes a mistake, overcharges someone, issues a fine, or blocks an account, what fair process does a Denver rider actually have?

But don't just take our word.

03

Why competition matters

When riders can choose between operators, companies have pressure to keep vehicles available, prices reasonable, support responsive, and account decisions fair. Competition gives users a practical escape valve when one provider fails them.

A single-operator system can simplify city management, but it also concentrates leverage. If the only provider has poor coverage, weak support, or unfair enforcement, riders have nowhere else to go.

04

Some things we do appreciate from Veo

Accountability starts with being fair. Veo has made real commitments around adaptive vehicles, seated options, local operations, and city partnership. If those promises translate into reliable access for more riders, that matters.

We want to track what is working alongside what is not: safer rides, better parking compliance, responsive support, and service that reaches neighborhoods beyond the highest-demand corridors.

05

How Veo is different from Lime and Bird

Veo pitched Denver on a different model: a smaller set of operators, a broader vehicle mix, local partnership, and commitments to access, safety, parking, and compliance. Those promises should be measured in real rider experience.

We will compare what riders used to get from Lime and Bird with what Veo now provides: availability, pricing, ride quality, neighborhood coverage, support outcomes, and how well the city can enforce the deal it approved.
